AccuQuilt launches the GO! Big Die Catcher

The GO! Big Die Catcher is an accessory for AccuQuilt’s GO! Big die cutter, which provides a surface for dies to glide along as they exit the device.

Made to match the aesthetic of our previous designs for AccuQuilt, the die catcher stows away neatly when not in use, and is able to hold the GO! Big’s power adapter.

Xavier joins us for the summer

Xavier joins us for the summer

Meet our summer intern, Xavier! Equipped with a natural curiosity about how things work, Xavier is seeking to deepen his understanding of the relationship between form and function, while growing his industrial design skills before beginning his final year at the University of Houston. Outside of the office, he enjoys sketching, reading and exploring the outdoors, where he finds inspiration for his design work.

“A quite town in winter, an ordinary view

But when you step back further, you’ll find our wish for you.”

All the best from Fahrenheit this season!

The team celebrated the holidays with lunch at Kura, a revolving sushi bar, and tried to see just how many plates we could finish. Afternoon productivity suffered a worthwhile blow.

Is AI coming for OUR jobs?

Is AI coming for OUR jobs?

Probably not, but it will become extremely useful! While it can’t (yet) replace human creativity, plenty of tools are being developed that will benefit us at all stages of the design process.

Former team member and friend of Fahrenheit, Spencer Dodge, is among the most knowledgeable people on how to leverage AI in industrial design. We enlisted him to get him to get us caught up on the tools available, and we’re actively incorporating AI into our process.

Red Dot Awards 2023

Red Dot Awards 2023

Two more designs from our partnership with Biamp have been awarded Red Dots!

First is the Parlé VBC 2500, a conferencing bar boasting excellent audio and video quality. It relates aesthetically to the Parlé microphone, bearing a sophisticated look without drawing attention to itself.

Second is the visual brand language for Biamp’s line of rack-mounted digital audio processors, created to be scalable and adaptable for all future rack products.

CES 2023: What ISN'T Consumer Electronics?

CES 2023: What ISN'T Consumer Electronics?

One of our greatest takeaways from attending CES this year: smart tech is blurring the boundary between what is and is not “consumer electronics”. From digital companions to cookware to a 100-ton mining vehicle, leaps in machine learning are pushing the potential applications of technology to a new level.

In addition to AI-centered tech, the show floor was dominated by electric power - EVs, battery backups, car chargers. With the world starting to shift away from fossil fuels, countless new players are jostling for unclaimed territory in this space. May the best technology win!

Fahrenheit in the age of COVID-19

The team adjusts to remote work, zoom calls, and staying safe and coronavirus-free!

Starting in March, the Fahrenheit team shifted to completely working from home. Like many others have experienced, it has been an adjustment, but we have now adapted to being remote and are working as usual.

Jack joins the team!

Jack joins the team!

A corn-fed Hoosier with German roots, Jack spent his upbringing in Indianapolis honing his mechanical and artistic sensibilities. He attended nearby Purdue University originally for engineering, but when he discovered the school’s industrial design program, he became enamored by the idea of combining his loves of art and STEM. He made the switch, graduated with his BA in 2019, and joined the Fahrenheit team that following November. Outside of design you can find Jack playing different instruments, tasting teas and whiskeys, and fighting the urge to start new projects before finishing his current ones.

Danielle Bullock has joined the team as our student intern. “I originally began at BYU studying graphic design. I realized that I wanted a slightly more engineering-based field of study and began investigating areas of study within the school of Engineering and technology. When I found industrial design It kinda just clicked for me because it was the perfect combination of the visual arts and engineering. I love working in 3D and solving real life problems through design.” Originally from Colorado Springs, Co., Danielle is excited about Austin’s art and music scene and is on the hunt for the city’s best taco.
